There’s no better time than when you’re eating for two to indulge! What’s your go-to guilty food pleasure? Cake? Ice cream? A plate full of cheesy fries? An entire gooey, cheesy pizza? Go for it, mama! As long as you’re maintaining a healthy diet for most of your pregnancy, it is totally okay to indulge in your cravings once in a while!
Read for Fun!
How often do you get the chance to sit and read something you enjoy, just for fun? Snuggle up in bed with a cup of hot chocolate and dive into a good book! If you want something new, check out your local library for suggestions.
Show Your Feet Some Love!
Your feet are taking a beating right now! They’re supporting your extra baby weight, plus are probably swollen from the extra fluids in your body. Soak your feet in the tub or a foot bath in warm water with some Epsom salts and essential oils for a relaxing experience.
Rest and Recharge!
This tip can be a few different things, depending on what your body needs! Maybe you just need to put your feet up and watch your favorite reality TV show (my guilty pleasure is catching up with those Kardashians). Maybe you need to turn your mind completely off and take a nap for a bit! Do what is best for you! Either way, don’t make your brain work too hard: no lists, no working, just resting.
Wear Something Pretty!
I get wanting to be comfortable in a super uncomfortable growing body! For me, that often led to maternity leggings and an oversized t-shirt. But there is just something about taking the time to put on a cute outfit that you feel totally awesome in! Find an awesome maternity outfit, maybe some cute jeans and a top or an adorable dress, that you feel great in and rock it!
Take a Bath!
This was by far my favorite way to relax during pregnancy. I’d pull out the bubble bath and run the warm water. Then, light an aromatherapy candle and turn on some soft music! You could even combine two ways to pamper yourself during pregnancy and read a book while enjoying your bath!
Taking the time during your pregnancy to take care of yourself will do wonders for your mental health! It’s important to remember that, even before baby is born, a healthy, happy mama means a healthy happy baby! When you pamper yourself during pregnancy, you don’t have to spend a crazy amount of money! In fact, with this list, you can do it for free at home!
